Just mixing prints and trying things out here. Most I dislike and will not go forward with except for maybe design three or four. In design three I have tried to generate a new circle and triangle designed print, which is somewhat successful I think but perhaps out of place. Design five just using triangles is not as successful I think.
I have tried to mix and match the prints here and see how they will compliment each other and how they will look together in a line up. In design three I have used a large opening in the back in the shape of the Rose Window print, indicating a hole in the garment just like there are holes in the Cathedral building and holes that still remain in Christchurch's heart.
Here I have once again used the Rose Window design on outfit five and the Chalice design on outfit one. However on two and four I have used a pattern I used in my previous collection, generated from the 'Harmen Window' seen on the Christchurch Cathedral. Here I have also focussed on exaggerating the silhouette.
Again here is seen the circle and triangle print on the skirt and pants however the pants have different patterned legs to create contrast. The leave/ flower print is that seen on the Chalice sculpture in the Cathedral square which represents 42 leaf patterns, representing 42 different native New Zealand plants- keeping it local. The thicker fabrics used for the neck and sleeves of some of the garments will be wool or perhaps faux fur.
